This is a tool for guiding a catheter with a balloon to the ailing area when treating a cardiac infarction.
The length of the guide wire is 175 cm which is as long as the height of an adult, and the thickness of 0.35 mm is thinner than a mechanical pencil lead. It is made mostly of metal wires, but the tip is soft so as not to harm the blood vessels.
