SPI-RAX Direct System

Transmits power through R curve and in compact spaces.

The SPI-RAX direct-link system used to open and close automobile sunroofs combines a hollow urethane tube with a SPI-RAX cable wrapped with a coiled material and with a DC motor gear to create a drive mechanism for pushing and pulling a terminal. Using a cable allows it to be used in areas with R curve or in tight spaces, such as for a sunroof. Further, the load and stroke can be easily modified to fit the applications, such as for devices that open and close the heavy front windows of construction equipment or horizontally sliding shutters.
Since the device fits into very compact spaces and has a flexible mechanism, it is expected to meet the needs for a wide range of applications in the industrial equipment and residential equipment sectors.
